I was contacted by an SF couple whose neighbor had rescued Jenny the
fledgling pigeon http://www.rescuereport.org/2011/08/jenny.html from three
boys who had caught her (details below). If she had the possibility of being
releasable, she would have been routed to wildlife rescue and rehab
(MickaCoo believes that if a pigeon can be free, it should be free) but,
because Jenny is blind, she will stay in MickaCoo foster care until she is
placed in a forever home.
Our neighbor, who saved Jenny and brought her to us, told me today that
Jenny had been flying low over the sidewalk and one of three boys grabbed
her out of the air and threw her to the ground. They kicked at her a couple
times before our neighbor chased them off. I am so glad Anna saw what
happened and put a stop to it.
