Pigeons have exceptional eyesight and the ferals are always starving. I bet if you showed one a handfull of food (rice, bread or cracker crumbs, french fries, bird seed, whatever) and then tossed the food in front of an open door, it would go for it. (And then stick around looking for more.)
Maybe best to leave them alone. They'll leave when they're ready and less likely to injure themselves if not in a panic.

Subject: [Mickaboo Discuss] how to guide pigeons out of store successfully
i see pigeons walk inside stores many times. many times store people
chase them away w. broom etc. what would be the best way to take them
outside safely? a couple of weeks ago, i saw a pigeonsflew into apple
store on chestnut st in sf. apple employees told us that "oh, we know
how to handle this." One employee came out with black jacket and
tried to catch the bird. The pigeon got scared and flew into the
apple's glass entrance w. big noise:(( A concerned customer called a
vet for the birdie; he was still alive, but didn't look good.
