Should MickaCoo Have Its Own Booth at the Berkeley-Albany Solano Stroll 9/9/12?
Hello! If MickaCoo wants to attend the Solano Stroll in Berkeley/Albany on 9/9 this year, we will need to have our own booth (rather than share with Mickaboo as we have in the past). It will cost $110 and we'll need to find/borrow/steal/buy a canopy and bring tables and chairs as well as our birds and ourselves... The booth application deadline for the ever-popular Solano Stroll is soon. The Stroll webpage boasts of 250,000+ visitors to the event and 500 vendors (including nonprofits) – it’s a big deal, and great exposure if MickaCoo can be there again. The Stroll’s public hours are 10-6 pm – who would like to represent MickaCoo at this event, for all or part of the time? What do YOU think? And- if you think YES, would you be able to help (donate towards fee or help/loan equipment and or volunteer)? Thank you all for your willingness to help and good ideas. We appreciate
them!
Rather than invest so much time and energy and money and effort into this
one event (which it would require if we were to have a booth of our own),
we are going to have 2 volunteers with pigeons in pants join with the
Berkeley Animal Care Service team at their booth. We we still be able to
make lots of new friends for pigeons but it will be a very simple,
inexpensive effort.
Because it is a long, busy day, I think it would be best if we had two
teams of two volunteers- an early shift (10-2) and a later shift (2-6).
Please let me know if you'd like to bring a bird for one of those shifts!
