Hi, Kymberleigh- Thank you for that insight. The MickaCoo videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0is much more prominent than we anticipated it would be. The Pepsi Refresh grant application was submitted by MickaCoo adopter Catherine with help from Pam & myself. (We expanded the project to include Mickaboo because the vet expenses of Mickaboo are so much higher than MickaCoo and because the Mickaboo group is so much bigger than MickaCoo.) The grant asked for pictures and videos and we provided what we had available without really understanding how exactly it would be laid out by Pepsi. I don't believe that we can make any changes to the application. (Catherine- have you had a chance to confirm that? I believe you did but my memory is hazy.) And while I can personally attest to the negative feelings many have about pigeons, they are also *very beloved* by a great many. Some of the comments on our Pepsi project actually call out our support of pigeons as special. I did have one thought, for whatever it is worth: The video on our page concentrates entirely on MickaCoo, and even though we have pictures of the other types of companion birds Mickaboo helps, the text in our description also only names doves and pigeons specifically. I hate to say this, but there are a lot of people in this world who dislike pigeons (some of them have probably been pooped on in a park somewhere by one) and those people may not look any further than the video and the text on our page. I may not be an actual Mickaboo volunteer, living down here in Southern California, but my adopted budgies Chance, Mieli and Apollo make me a part of Mickaboo anyway ... and I feel I needed to say the above in the spirit of constructive criticism.
