UPDATE on the abandoned pigeons in Vallejo

Hello! MickaCoo volunteer & supporter Kelle (who works at WildCare) has reached out to her friend Marie (who works at IBRRC) and Marie has twice gone to look for the homing pigeons abandoned in an open aviary in a Vallejo backyard. The first time that she went, there were no birds there. We've asked for folks in the area to leave bird seed in the open aviary in the hopes of persuading the abandoned birds to stick around (presuming they check their old home for food). The second time Marie checked, she found some sort of food had been left there (thank you to whomever did that!) but again no birds. We do have Marin Humane Society's OK to bring the birds in if we can secure them. (This is a very multi-agency rescue!) If YOU are in the Vallejo area and can check for these birds, please do! If you go and see any in the aviary, close the aviary and contact me ASAP at AdoptKings@gmail.com or phone me at 415 420-7204 so that we can arrange to box up and transport the birds to Novato. PLEASE take bird seed when you go check and scatter it around (a little outside and most inside the aviary). Chances are these hungry birds will check back at their old home for food and, if they find some, they might stick around (pigeons are after all homebodies). The location info is: You can go to the house as no one watches it and it is a vacant mess. There is a gate on the side with a latch; I am short and found the latch easy to undo. The pigeons on the the backyard. Poor dear ones!!!! THe house is 5325 Chenin Blanc. Thank you all very much for your efforts to help these abandoned birds. -- Elizabeth *MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue - Join us at https://www.facebook.com/MickaCooRescue* Until they all have homes, don't buy, don't breed- adopt. www.RescueReport.org www.MickaCoo.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0
