Low Cost Cage for non-Mickaboo Meyer's Needed

Hello- MickaCoo adopter & volunteer Zoe shared this message with me and I can think of no better community to turn to than this- "Do you know anyone who might have a parrot safe cage for sale or to loan? Our new roommate brought a meyers parrot with him and his cage is tiny with no toys!! We are broke but that needs to be remedied. Glen doesnt know much about keeping parrots...someone gave him the bird. Its a very sweet parrot despite a lot of moving and being given away." And yes, I'll be recommending Mickaboo's free Bird Care Class! If you have/know of a low cost cage for a non-Mickaboo Meyer's parrot, please email Zoe at Zoe_Martell@yahoo.com Thank you! e -- Elizabeth *MickaCoo Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0* *Join us on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/MickaCooRescue * *www.PigeonRescue.org http://www.PigeonRescue.org* *Subscribe to our newsletter http://eepurl.com/iWq1P * *Please sign & share our Pledge to Say No to Squab! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/908/812/754/pledge-to-stop-eating-baby-pigeon...*

How small is the current one? I have an old cage my Sun Conure was in, 24" x 22" x 31" (not including stand, etc.) That's still pretty small (which is my Sun isn't in it anymore) but if the current one is even smaller than that it would be an upgrade. Elizabeth - Can you tell us in what area Zoe and her roommate live?
The best suggestion I have for a new cage for a Meyers would be the
ever-popular HQ small flight cage, which is currently $129 new on-line:

Hi -- Zoe here :) I am in Alameda. Thanks so much for the suggestion -- I have a couple of those HQ flight cages for doves, and I really like them. I'm totally new to parrots, so am wanting reassurance that whatever cage we purchase is parrot-safe in terms of paint, finish, bar spacing, etc. -- as well as being an appropriate size.
This little guy has been living in a 15 x 15 inch cage with no toys for years :(

Zoe, We've had several Meyers in these cages. I can send you a link of
toys that meyers seem to enjoy as well.
