WONDERFUL NEWS! Dear Friends of Muttville, We're over the moon with all of the wonderful news we have to share, none of which would be possible without you!! Your votes made Muttville "San Francisco's Favorite Charity!" Can you believe it? And both our $100,000 Matching Grant Challenge and our Holiday Adoption Center are going like gangbusters. And finally, dear Pappi, the semi-blind Pug so many of you fell in love with, was one of the lucky Muttville mutts who found his new forever home this week. SAN FRANCISCO'S FAVORITE CHARITY! We won! The winner of 7x7 magazine's [1] contest to find San Francisco's favorite charity is ... MUTTVILLE! THANK YOU to every one of you who tirelessly voted for us day after day. Your enthusiasm and commitment made it happen. First place prize is $10,000! And we'll be featured in the March 2012 issue of 7x7. The senior mutts are beside themselves with joy and gratitude and a few sloppy kisses. We're honored to have shared a ballot with the other six finalists: Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California [2], Lyon-Martin Health Services [3], MYEEP [4], Minds Matter [5], Saving Grace Rescue [6], and the Asian Women's Shelter [7]. And we salute their wonderful and dedicated supporters. Each of these organizations does fantastic work for our Bay Area community. OUR $100,000 MATCHING GRANT CHALLENGE More great news! Your response to our $100,000 matching challenge drive has been astounding. We're already halfway to our goal. If you haven't yet made your donation, now's the time. You give to Muttville, Muttville gets TWICE the amount. In case you missed our announcement: Several generous anonymous supporters have come together to offer Muttville a combined matching grant totaling $50,000! That means every dollar you donate to Muttville between now and January 15, 2012 will be DOUBLED until we reach a total gift of $100,000. To everyone who has already contributed, thank you! Your generosity saves lives. This year, we rescued over 350 sweet, wonderful senior dogs whose days were numbered, giving them each a new life filled with the love and care they deserve. But there's so much more work to do, so many more mutts to save. If you haven't already done so, please consider making a yearend tax-deductible donation to Muttville now. DONATE NOW at http://www.muttville.org/give. To make a donation as a gift to a mutt-loving friend, just fill out our gift donation form before processing your payment. We'll send a gift announcement card to the recipient. YOUR DONATION SAVES LIVES ALL YEAR LONG! HOLIDAY ADOPTION CENTER UPDATE SantaCon Pub Crawl at Holiday Adoption Center Photo by Chung Nguyen Photography [8] Our drop-in Holiday Adoption Center [9] has been a rip-roaring success so far. On Saturday, a bunch of happy Santas paused their SantaCon Pub Crawl to say hi to the mutts, and - as you can see - it was a match made in mutt heaven. ABC, NBC, and KQED news teams all dropped in, as well, to report on our happy event. We'll post their coverage on our Press Page [10], as each becomes available. Plenty of adorable, adoptable Muttville mutts have been spending their weekends there, hoping to find their new forever homes. Jennie [11], Connie [12], Carson [13], and Casper [14] already have! Santa's there, too, as well as lots of cool dog-friendly gift items for the holiday season. We're open from noon to 3:00pm every Saturday and Sunday in December except Sunday, Dec 25. At 1259 Polk Street (corner of Bush). Come on down and join in the fun! And find your senior mutt soul mate! PAPPI'S HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! Still more good news! You may remember the newsletter we sent out last week that featured Pappi [15], the nearly blind love-Pug who was left in the night dropbox of a local shelter. His future looked dire until the kind workers at the shelter went out of their way to save him. When adoption seemed unlikely, they called Muttville. We received an overwhelming response to Pappi's story: eight adoption applications in 48 hours! That's a Muttville record! THANK YOU to everyone who reached out to make Pappi's life better. Congratulations to Pappi and his lucky new family. He now has a new sibling, a rescued Chihuahua, to curl up next to. We're so happy for him! And a special thanks to all the Muttville volunteers who showered Pappi with love while he was here with us. ___________________________________________________________________________ What an amazing triumph the past week has been! You share in Muttville's every success, and we are immensely grateful for your support. THANK YOU!
