Hello- Some of you may remember that Filoli's Director of Horticulture, Lucy, has not only become a MickaCoo adopter (8 pigeons) and foster (13 doves) but she also includes MickaCoo in events where we can showcase how lovely king pigeons are to garden show attendees. Last year many of us volunteered as docents at their Mothers' Day Flower Show (you can see pictures herehttp://www.rescuereport.org/2010/05/filoli-flower-show.html). This year, we've been invited to accompany them and their dovecote to the SF Flower & Garden Show to be held in San Mateo from 3/24-27th. Lucy's adopted pigeons will "staff the dovecote" (see pictures attached) but we would really benefit from having a MickaCoo volunteer with a pigeon in pants there to greet and meet some of the expected 10,000 attendees and to help inspire adopters for these innocent birds. Only one person can volunteer at a time and there are 8 shifts to cover (10-2 & 2-6 Thurs - Sun.) The shifts that need to be covered are: Thursday 3/24 10-2 & 2-6 Friday 3/25 10-2 & 2-6 Saturday 3/26 10-2 & 2-6 Sunday 3/27 10-2 & 2-6 Please let me know if you can staff a shift and which would be your first and second choices.
