Off the top of my head: Feathered friends need love too. Feathers happen (or sometimes don't!) It's not only fine feathers that make fine birds. (9 words) My heart is like a singing bird. (quote attributed to Christina Rossetti) I love the Dickenson quote though. I also like this one from her (which is to long): I hope you love birds too. It is economical.
