I apologize if this subject has already been discussed on this list, but I just wanted to be sure to spread the word about the new law in California which prohibits the sale of live animals “on any street, highway, public right-of-way, parking lot, carnival, or boardwalk," since it has the potential to prevent the sale of thousands of exotic birds and other animals who are sold throughout the state at flea markets, swap meets, farmers' markets, etc.
If you see animals being sold in such places, please contact local law enforcement and also let In Defense of Animals know so that we can follow-up and monitor
enforcement of the law. Please also try to document the sale by getting photos and/or video footage.
