Hello, MickaCoo!
We had a wonderful event yesterday! Thank you to all who helped or came or
both! I'll be sending out a report and pictures hopefully by tomorrow!
Please know that, busy as I am today, I am still basking in the glow of
your support. *Thank you.*
*
*
And-
*There will be a big adoption event in Carmichael (near Sacramento) on
October 7th (details attached and below) that we need volunteers for
(please reply to me if you are able to come!)*
And-
MickaCoo has so much potential to help birds- even more than we already
are! We have so much support and I am a bottle-neck trying to do TOO MUCH
so I'm going to be asking for lots more help (even though I already ask for
a ton so brace yourselves!)
So here goes-
*MickaCoo needs a Calendar Keeper! *We are invited to attend many events
and currently I am the one responding to all the invites (and following up
on whatever info/details they need), putting out the posts for volunteers,
setting up the calendar event (on a Google calendar- screenshot attached-
suggestions for better/easier shared calendar welcome), and following up to
make sure that, as the event nears, everything that needs to be organized
is (enough volunteers, enough birds, equipment, flyers, etc.)
*MickaCoo needs a very detail-oriented, organized, great-at-follow-through
and reliable person to Calendar Wrangle for us! You don't have to attend
events, just make sure that we do! *Please let me know if you're
interested. Thank you!

Hi everyone,
As most of you already know we are planning a Mickaboo adoption fair on
October 7th at the Carmichael Public Library. It is located at 5605 Marconi
Ave in Carmichael from 10-3. We start set up around 9. It is best to
havebirds there no later than 8:30 as people arrive early and it is hard to
set up birds as folks are arriving. it also gives birds times to settle in
before the event.
Please let me know if you will be able to attend and if you plan to bring
any of your foster birds. I like to make name tags ahead of time for all of
the volunteers and also print out the stories for the birds attending. I
don't mind if you have small birds and cannot stay for the entire event.
You can leave the birds and pick them up at the end of the fair. However,
is is henerally best with large foster birds if the foster parent can stay
and answer questions. It is also very reassuring for the birds. There will
be some vols around to answer general questions about the birds in general.
If you do attend it is advisable to bring a sack lunch and drinks. It gets
so busy there with the fair that if you leave to go get lunch it is
difficult to find parking when you return! Sometimes we do a mini pot luck
as well -bringing had held foods to share. There is a tiny kitchen we we
can use which has a fridge in it for our use.
I am attaching an adoption fair flyer which I would really appreciate if
you can help print and post in your area. We now have vols in Sacramento,
Davis, Alta, Sacramento, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights, Vacaville, El Grove,
Weimar, Jackson, West Sacramento, Lincoln Modesto and Stockton. If each
of you can even post just 5 flyer's it will help spread the word. Some
suggested sties for posting include vets, feeds stores, pet stores,
community bulletin boards, rural post office message boards, bulletin
boards at work sites etc.
Thank you and I hope to see you all there. Even if you do not have a foster
bird we can use your help and it is a great way to meet vols in your area.
