Setup time to get the birds comfortable: 1:45 pm
We’re scheduled ahead of their normal Saturday movie time (starting at 3 pm).
Location is 399 Buena Vista Avenue, San Francisco. Plenty of free street parking.
All visitors sign in at front desk when you enter the building.
We’ll be in a large room on the entry-level floor (so no stairs to negotiate) – expect a lot of wheelchairs and walkers in the room. Expect to talk a tad louder than usual.
I’m thinking agenda would be something like:
– short introduction of the volunteer, the organization they represent, and the bird(s) they’re bringing, then:
- if the bird can be handled (like pij, dove) – allow the bird to be held / handled by those who want to
- if the bird needs to stay in their cage (mine are likely to be this variety) – provide commentary now and again on what the bird(s) is doing
And of course answer residents’ questions along the way.
