I'm about to ask you all to do something, but first let me introduce myself. My name is Catherine Johnston and I just adopted two pigeons from MickaCoo less than a month ago. They, Tina and Tony, are doing well-- just doing some wind observations from the living room window at the present. Like many of the birds that came through MickaCoo, Tina and Tony required veterinary care, and veterinary care requires funding. Altogether Mickaboo's (and 'Coo's) veterinary bills require raising $12,000 every month and this requires tremendous effort. In order to find more funding I have applied to the Pepsi Refresh Project for a $50,000 grant for Mickaboo (and 'Coo) (Pepsi Refresh website is http://www.refresheverything.com/ ).

 

Here's where you come in-- to win the grant Mickaboo (and 'Coo) needs your vote. Yes, that's right the Pepsi Refresh Project grants are funded according to whoever gets the most votes, and voting takes place daily. So we need your vote, but we also need you to get the vote for Mickaboo (and 'Coo)-- can you bring in 10 votes each day? With your vote, and your friends' votes, we could win the grant and fifty thousand dollars would provide a good bit of veterinary care for those birds that need help.

 

There is one hitch-- we're not sure when the Mickaboo (and 'Coo) application will be up for voting. It could be as soon as tomorrow (Monday, January 3, 2011), which is why I'm posting today to give a "heads up." I will post as soon as I know when we can begin voting-- until then please consider how you could help bring in the votes to help our birds.
