The bill to ban live pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania is coming up for a vote, possibly as soon as this week.

The legislation, by Representative John Maher, will be in the form of an amendment that will also make eating cats and dogs illegal and ban the release of exotic animals into the wild.

It is vital that every PA resident contact their state legislator and ask that they vote "Yes" on the "Maher Amendment" to end the nightmare of cruel pigeon shoots!

Obviously, the NRA is upset and crying about this, but what's interesting is that they don't even refer to pigeon shoots, but instead call them "organized bird shoots." They go on to say "For over a century, shoots have been held in Pennsylvania by law-abiding, ethical shooting enthusiasts."

Now we know they are just making this up as they go along. SHARK has documented enormous unethical behavior, from Philadelphia Gun Club President Leo Holt torturing wounded pigeons to a huge pile of dead and wounded birds at the Wing Pointe canned hunting club. And let's not forget that putting a pigeon into a box and shooting them like clay targets is the definition of an unethical act. But that's the NRA; they have never met a cruel slaughter of animals that they didn't like.
