Hello Awesome SF Vegan Bakesale Bakers/Volunteers!
This is a long email so please bear with me and I apologize but there's lots of info in here, mostly not crazy! First, I wanted to ask: Can anyone bring a table to the bakesale? Our usual source of tables is unavailable and we need 'em! Please please please let me know!
As we plan everything needed to have a successful sale, we realize there are a few things we still need & could use some help on:
SIGNS! We need to get traffic flowing towards our tables & that means colorful signs! Consider silly things like, "Eat A Cupcake, Save An Animal!" or "Bake Sale for the Animals". Anything people can see when driving / walking by that looks nice / tempting is great. Also, we're attaching flyers that can be posted everywhere and left at coffee shops, etc. Please help or pass on to those who can!
We could also use napkins, to-go boxes (!!!), decorative plates to display items on, especially multi-tiered display options and most importantly, large, stable tables.
Have these items? Able to get them? LET US KNOW! If you don't have these items, don't worry, we'll be fine! How can anyone be upset when baked goods are involved?!
One questions I've been asked repeatedly is how to bring your baked goods..
When bringing your items, consider putting some in saran wrap or putting some of your items in bags. It's certainly not required, we will have saran on site & many people will be eating there, but for those taking items away, it will make things easier to sell & encourage people to take things on the road. If your item is not something that looks visually stimulating in saran, skip it!
Also, a plate of some sort to display them is nice, but not required. If you don't plan to stay the whole day, please label any containers you need back. Ideally, you'll come get them at the end of the day. Oh and volunteer Jackie also made the attached signs that you can attach to your baked goods with ribbons, if you'd like. We'll also have signs at the sale!
Don't worry about making a sign for your goodies, unless you want to specifically advertise your bakery in them. We'll have colorful index cards on hand for everyone else. Don't worry about pricing, we're going to standardize it to make it easy!
We'll be arriving at SpeeSee's at 10 am on Saturday to set up. If you want to come early to hang signs, make the table pretty, hang out and be awesome, please do! In case of rain, the sale will still go on. It's forecasted right now but we're hoping it doesn't happen or that there's a light drizzle. If that's the case, we'll carry on. If it's really pouring, we'll probably shut down. I'll try to keep everyone posted on this but just assume that it's happening, rain or shine!
Finally, you'll all be assigned in shift as to when to deliver your goods (you're welcome to hang out and volunteer, too!). If the time slot doesn't work for you, just let me know and we'll figure out another one, no biggie!
We're so excited that you're all coming and it's gonna be amazing and we're gonna make SO MUCH money for the animals!
xoxo
