Conference Synopsis: Conscious Eating will inform and empower our community about the true nature of sustainable food choices. There’s a growing awareness of food and its relationship to our planet, our communities, our health, and the animals who share our planet. As we face unprecedented global challenges from climate change to food deserts, we realize that agriculture plays a critical role in these challenges and that it is our responsibility to make informed and conscious choices for ourselves, our local and global community, and the planet. A focus of discussion will be Locavorism and issues surrounding urban backyard animal keeping as an “alternative” to factory farming.
