Hello- A lovely couple rescued a hawk-struck feral pigeon fledgling three months ago and took it in and kept it as a pet. They knew it had a terribly injured eye but believed it had vision. They are moving out of the country and have surrendered this young bird whom they named Lucky to me & MickaCoo http://www.MickaCoo.org/. But, since having this bird in my home, I have come to believe that it is blind or very nearly so. I think it learned to navigate around their home by sound and feel. I don't want to move this bird around any more than I absolutely have to. (I think being unable to find your way around a new environment must be very stressful.) We need a really great forever home for Lucky. Ideally, I think Lucky should have a pigeon friend/mate. I'm not positive yet of Lucky's gender but I'm leaning towards her being a hen. If you or someone you know could provide a stable, safe and comfy forever home to a blind pigeon, please contact me at AdoptKings@gmail.com *NOTE: Lucky lived peaceably with the rescuers' cats but MickaCoo does NOT recommend bird-on-cat-time and even friendly contact with cats can make birds fatally sick!* * * Thank you for your help, *e * -- Elizabeth *PLEASE vote for Mickaboo & 'Coo Bird Rescues today **& every day* *this month to help us win a MUCH needed $50K grant! * **www.refresheverything.c om/mickaboobirdrescue Until they all have homes, don't buy, don't breed- adopt. www.RescueReport.org www.MickaCoo.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGjyooh3Yo0
