This is an opportunity for Mickaboo to get a little publicity. It would be
great if someone (you don't need a bird) can act as a spokesperson for
Mickaboo starting about 7pm. I'll be running back and forth between the
movie location and the pet shop.
Pet Parade prior to the screening of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". It's an
outdoor venue, so birds should be in carriers, or on harness.
See below for more details:
LOCATION: Post St between S. Market St and S 1st. Street (see map attached.
It's 5 blocks from Andy's Pet Shop, so you may wish to park in our lot and
walk over. Street parking should be free after 6 pm.
TIME: 7:30 at Post St, or join us a bit earlier (around 7pm at Andy's Pet
Shop) We can shuttle people and birds in our big van.
PREPARE: Have some info, or humorous anecdote about your birds. You may
talk, or I can "interview" you, or do all the talking myself. Ideas: bird's
name, where from, favorite food, favorite movie, what scares your bird,
tricks, etc. Send to me by email or just be prepared with ideas and I'll jot
them down on notecards so we aren't speechless in front of the microphone.
We'll have a pop-up shade structure, a table, and a couple of chairs. You
can hang around the booth to talk to people, or walk around the audience as
they take their seats. Bring flyers or pictures or banners or whatever you
have.
FINISH: None of the bird people I know are planning to stay for the movie.
We'll likely be done by 8:30 by 8:45 at the very latest. There may be some
kind of competition, voting for favorite bird for example, or Hitchcock
trivia towards 8:30.
