Great news! I don't know how you do it but I'm so grateful that you do :) tammy On Jul 19, 2010, at 10:30 PM, Elizabeth Young wrote:
We got lucky. I picked up what appears to be a pretty healthy fledgling pij (about 5 weeks old). Good weight, no signs of illness seen so far. I'm not sure what happened that it wound up crouched in a doorway rather than in its regular roost spot but I'm pretty optimistic that we can worm and canker-proof and get this little one to rehab and release. The rescuer named her (?) Star. She's on my counter for now (what's another crate?) and hopefully I can hand her off in a day or two.
Carol (her rescuer) and I were pretty jazzed to see so much potential for a happy ending.
Thank you very much to Cheryl A for being willing to take on this little 911 pij.
Star may well end up getting released with Tammy & Maya & Virginia's Patience who is still bonding with a flock of fledglings.

I'll report more later but, in the meantime, please give some thought to where a medium-sized dog kennel might look good in your quarantine space...
