A lot of people have asked me what I think about pigeon racing lately.
I think pigeon racing is like dog racing or horse racing except that, in addition to the exploitations of the sport, they also they take the athletes 10s or 100s of miles away from home and set them free with a wish for good luck and a speedy return. Some don't make it. Some do but are slow and so are culled (killed). It would be like someone stealing you from your beloved home and life and family and setting you free X miles away and betting on how fast you can make it home (if you make it home), for their own fun and thrill.
Pigeons are home-bodies. Pigeons LOVE home and family.
I know there are many people, all across the world, who race pigeons. Many of them are very nice, decent people. I have nothing against pigeon racers but no, personally, I don't think pigeon racing is nice to pigeons.
