Re: [Media-advisors] Muriel's story on SFgate tomorrow (2-15)

we should be prepared to respond if there are false or inflammatory statements
I agree but would add that there might be some inflammatory statements that deserve to be ignored. I'll be glad to see a dialog build up about what Mickaboo does, and how and why we do it, and I agree that we should be ready to respond professionally as appropriate and in alignment with our mission and principles. Based on my experience, many of the responses in forums like these are from either deliberately mean-spirited trolls who are looking to get a rise out of others, or narrow-minded, kneejerk ideologues. Patti, thanks for writing this story and for the work that you have done with Muriel. I don't know her story yet but assume that I will tonight or tomorrow. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web LIVE Free email based on Microsoft® Exchange technology - http://link.mail2web.com/LIVE

I think Jonathon's email is good advice which is well-tempered by your email here. I can't begin to take all the credit; I had Muriel for only a month or thereabouts; since then, she has stayed with Sandy Gleason, Jackie (I'm sorry, I can't remember her last name), and, currently, Kerry Powell. Each has done so much to move Muriel forward, though she still has a ways to go. It's been a big challenge, on all fronts. p On 2/14/12 12:38 PM, 1217@vhrovat.org wrote:

Thank you for the story, Patty. It is very good. I agree that we need to
monitor comments, especially to answer questions or clarify
misunderstandings. Watch out for the king of trolls (James Spade).
