Rio private screening

If I read between the lines - when I read the online version, the only explicit mention of monies going to nonprofits is via the raffle. I'm guessing (but it's only a guess) the $20 is covering the movie house's normal admission + popcorn + soda + "private showing" privilege. And I wonder if the nonprofit is on the hook for a guaranteed seating number. Would be QUITE nice if a theatre donated a whole showing - ticket cost and all - to Mickaboo! - Pam ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This message w/attachments (message) is intended solely for the use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain information that is privileged, confidential or proprietary. Usually booking a screening is much more expensive if it is at any of the usual movie-times. Charity or private screenings are usually in the morning of a weekend, or something along that line. I haven't been involved in booking any of these screenings, so I don't know what kind of charity discount might be had (if any). And, yes, the more people coming in, the more likely the basic 'nut' would be covered, unless the theater is especially generous. p

From what I am reading here, it sounds like this would be arranged with a theatre rather than the studio, there would be an up-front cost that would need to be covered, and a risk of losing money? On that basis, I'm not sure how helpful a private screening would be to Mickaboo, besides sounding cool.
I wonder what, if anything, the group that's doing the screening in Arizona is getting out of it. --VH -----Original Message----- From: media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org [mailto:media-advisors-bounces@mickaboo.org] On Behalf Of pblau@sonic.net Sent: Wednesday, April 27, 2011 1:32 PM To: Mickaboo media advisor team Subject: Re: [Media-advisors] Rio private screening Usually booking a screening is much more expensive if it is at any of the usual movie-times. I don't *think* we would be appealing to the studio
See my other email. I have no idea if the studio would be involved anymore or how that would work. I guess this boils down to what's in it for Mickaboo in terms of either revenues or getting our message out. Maybe Elizabeth can describe what opportunity she sees here, since she posted this to the media group. I know I promised to work on a web article and hope to have a draft for review tonight. --VH
