Re: [Media-advisors] Something else to take to the meeting with SFACC

An otrs queue may work. Not so much asm imho - cuz we would likely not get all the info asm wants.

Pam,
Please bear in mind (and you probably already know this) that the list that Matt refers to below does not generally include non-intakes - that is, birds that someone tried to surrender to us but which we were unable to take. Most of the cockatiel "aviary" surrenders or five or more birds like those mentioned by Martha yesterday are not intakes because we simply don't have the bandwidth. I have seen probably a dozen such requests of between five and maybe 70 (yes, really) cockatiels in the past year. Most of them are for about 10 birds. I think that we want people to know about these because, among other things, they show that we are at overload.

Hi all;
The request for specific OTRS dumps of a certain time period in a "large file folder" format may be tricky for me today, so just to make sure you have something good to bring to the meeting (in case I fail):
http://mickaboo.org/our-birds/print/2010surrenders.html
That link prints an "adoption book" style document. The name, photo and story for every bird surrendered so far in 2010 (210 so far). It should print one per page. (Works in Firefox)

For a "couldn't intake" ASM entry I'd be fine only getting superficial animal info. Wouldn't take much and would be great to track.

I think that ASM has the advantage of otherwise being the repository of
choice and allowing counts (in new version) and because we can run batched
queries against it (not sure if we can with OTRS). OTRS is less work because
it's not adding any new data, just moving tickets into a different queue.
Whichever, I just think that it behooves us to begin recording the
non-intakes where they can be statistically referenced later.
