Attached is a long list of SF/Bay Area Media Outlets that might be useful
for promoting Pepsi as well as other press-worthy happenings such as
adoption fairs, press releases, etc.

Just a thought for next time since publicity was mentioned. Leah Garchik of the Chronicle was on vacation so I did not mention it. Also there is an article in the paper about non profits that get money from the city in today's Chronicle.
I was thinking that maybe we could capitalize on the fact that we take any bird that the SFACC can not help without question or any funds from the city.
Then we could go into the talking points about us being all volunteer with no office even and over 80% of all funds go to vet bills.
Then put in the get out the vote request. Even if every reader of the Chronicle just voted by text once that would be a lot of votes.

Did anybody else hear the item on the Pepsi Challenge on the radio (NPR) this morning? They said there are making changes next time to try to help the smaller organizations, as that is who they want to help. The $250,000 category will be gone and the daily vote limit will be 5 instead of 10. They interviewed a winner from Dayton OH who said they won because there were several items about them during the challenge in the local paper, and local schools supported them. The organization supplies shoes for homeless people. The "reciprocal voting" arrangements that sprung up were discussed - just sort of raising the question whether that was fair, or disreable or just natural, but it didn't sound like there was anything they could or would do to discourage that, other than reducing the number of votes.
