Regarding the Ed Morgan pieces in general: they ran in the Examiner and in Ed’s own “Parrot Hut” blog. The good news is that the Examiner, as far as I can tell, did not save any of his stuff in their archives. This is good because we can save off the positive article for distribution but the negative stuff has fewer links than it otherwise would.

I can save off the negative stuff backoffice but need to save it separately and make it pretty obvious that we do not want to share it, which will take some thinking. I will first want to hear Michelle’s thoughts on whether we should save it at all. Frankly, I find it very deeply disturbing (I will admit that I have a personal opinion in the matter since I cared for these birds.) and am not sure what we can learn from it except not to get baited.

One aspect of our posting links to positive news articles is that it might help to push those items higher on a Google search. I am not a search engine optimization expert and this is not our primary goal, but it may help push any negative stuff lower when people use Mickaboo as a search argument.

Thanks. I will remove the Gary Bogue from my list.

I know about the Tammy comments in the LA Times piece. So far I am not saving article comments or letters to the editor (just mainstream article content) but I can make an exception with this.

yes, Ed Morgan- that's the one i was thinking of. my bad.

i don't know if you have the bandwidth for it but preserving the hit piece(s) internally might be a good thing to do as well. (not for sharing outwardly obviously).

i'll find Tammy's statement.  it was different (though same time/issue) as Karen's piece that ran in SF Chron.

Hi,

I am compiling a list of mainstream news articles which feature or mention Mickaboo. I will describe more later, but for now, I am looking for, and failing to find, two specific articles which may or may not exist in the form in which I am expecting them:

1.)   An interview with Michelle by Gary Bogue, apparently conducted last year, publisher unknown. Gary Bogue writes for CoCo Times and Inside the Bay Area but I can find no such article in either web site’s archives. The only Mickaboo reference that I see in any Gary Bogue piece is our mention, along with several other rescues, in a generic “Support your local animal rescue” article. So, can someone verify that the Bogue interview with Michelle actually occurred, can you tell me if/where it was published, and, ideally, can you give me a URL.

2.)   A statement by Tammy describing why we support the proposed pet sale ban in SF. I DID find such a statement in the Chronicle with a byline of Karen Watkins. So, did Karen, write up Tammy’s stand as a news piece or is there a separate news article from Tammy? If the latter, if you can you tell me if/where it was published, and, ideally, can give me a URL, that will be very much appreciated.

Regarding the first item, I DID find a 2010 interview of Michelle by Ed Morgan, who is a breeder and sometimes news columnist. I actually found one legitimate and substantive interview, which I documented, and a hit piece on behalf of the James (Spaid) gang, which I did not. Elizabeth, is it possible that the Michelle interview that you are asking for is by Ed Morgan instead of Gary Bogue?

Thanks in advance. For any help in finding these (or proving that they don’t exist in the form that I am looking for.)
