Bird Talk recently published an article about recovering escaped birds. An article about settiing birds free is needed for the Bay Area. The SF Chronicle will print these. I have the name of the editor who arranged this when we were working on another issue.

The recent discussion about what happens when a bird escapes that really cannot fly very well triggered this chain of thought.  But there are many other subjects that would make good discussion topics - including what new bird buyers/adopters should be told.  This, of course, is a huge topic, but it could be bitten off in small chunks - like "Can new babies and birds live together amicably?", or "What to Tell Families with Children Who Want to Own a Bird".  I am not thinking of scholarly research pieces, or lengthy diatribes, but relatively short, punchy articles that get to the point in clear English and are supported by information in the article itself.
