Re: [Media-advisors] FW: [Mickaboo Discuss] Fwd: ANNOUNCING THE PARROT CARE PROJET & NATIONAL CAGE XCHANGE CAMPAIGN Yes, I thought this might be something I could write with my background.  I am already signed up to write a story about the parrot and the veteran for April so should I talk to Pamela or someone else about this?

This sounds like an opportunity for a well-written letter to either the editor or the writer of this article, on Mickaboo’s behalf. Here are some talking points:

1.)   Most parrots (and most species of parrot-type bird) won’t survive outdoors after having lived in captivity.

2.)   It’s illegal to release non-native species of bird to the wild anyway, and it may also be illegal from an animal cruelty perspective (needs research).

3.)   The wild flocks do have some problems as non-native species

Does anyone feel like taking this on?
