I "heart" the "bat" man Donald Griffin (sadly, never met him). But, no, hadn't read that book (but will add to my list). Had read and loved "Animal Minds" - another book that had gotten him in a lot of trouble. (Griff, at Dr. P's lab, is named after him.)
It was interesting, though, last night's conversation concerned "proving" consciousness in humans and animals and the potential of consciousness of future machines.
PS. Was so happy to hear a couple years ago that the bat colony that he'd studied back in the 30's are officially protected.
