For those who don't know who Valerie is, she lives in Santa Rosa and is a sort of independent animal rescuer. She's taken in a few birds for Mickaboo and has other she's rescued on her own. The caretaker has just called and said one of the budgies has been on the bottom of the cage not eating or drinking for a few days! This person doesn't drive! The nearest avian vet is Dr. Rupiper in Petaluma and his office is closed and recommends for emergency to go to the ER in San Rafael, which is a crap shoot as far as having a bird experience vet on hand. I can call and find out if they have one tonight, but I cannot go get the bird....I would need the bird brought to me in Novato or someone to do the whole trip. It's not a Mickaboo bird either. I had told Valerie to consider me a back up for bird care if her friend couldn't do it one day, but this has caught me totally off guard and I do not know what to do.
