The budgie that Pat Dixon was kind enough to provide emergency transport for from the SJ shelter yesterday is recovering. This poor little bird is anemic, has heavy metal poisoning, fragile bones,, and a possible hip fracture. That we know about so far. Thank goodness she's a budgie -- they don't come any tougher. Dr. Ferguson would like to send her home tomorrow. Is there a foster home out there that can offer some very special care to this tiny little bird?
