It was bound to hit at some point. In addition to the five budgies at the SVHS shelter and one in Martinez, we received a call from a surrenderer who is moving on July 15th to an apartment that does not take birds. She has five budgies. She tried to give them away on Craigslist and no one took them (thank goodness). I have here a nice big flight cage that would hold a lot of budgies if someone had the space for it. I am also ordering some smaller flight cages that would hold about 4 budgies comfortably. Folks -- four budgies are a terrific size group -- they talk and gurgle and carry on their soap operas and play with toys the way birds are supposed to play with toys -- with all of their energy! Please give some thought to fostering budgies. We truly are desperate. Michelle
