[Mickaboo Action] AIR FILTRATION - Donation Request

Hi All! We have a terrific new adopter, Shelley Buttler, in the Sacramento area who has adopted two special needs macaws - Rico and Max. Both of these birds are infected with the Papilloma virus and Shelley was willing to add them to her home to be company to her macaw with the same virus. Taking on big birds with a serious and contagious medical problem requires a huge commitment to ongoing veterinary care and high standards in diet and hygiene. In addition to Papilloma, Max suffers from chronic Pneumonitis affecting his respiratory system and heart. I am hoping someone might be willing to donate a good HEPA air filtration system for Max. We are also looking for destructible toys for these three big macaws - so if anyone can provide chunks of clean safe wood with a large hole drilled through for hanging, this will be an enormous help. Pine cones would be good too. And while I'm asking, does anyone have a big sturdy macaw cage they would like to donate to Mickaboo that could be used for Max? I want to also recognize Kelly Sinn, who was the foster mom for both Rico and Max and Sonny, a conure with Papilloma. Without people like Kelly and Shelley and all the rest of you, these wonderful birds wouldn't stand a chance. If you can help, please let me know and I'll coordinate the process. Thanks in advance for your help. Claudia Melteff Macaw Adoption Coordinator Mickaboo (650) 583-1940
