Hi! We have a wonderful home currently fostering Rico, a Greenwing Macaw who is afflicted with Papilloma virus. Rico's only exercise area is the top of his cage. The nature of the virus involves the bird's intestines and results in very frequent loose stool, creating a mess not only all over the cage and anything in the cage but also for many feet beyond. What we really need for this home is a large perch stand for Rico to exercise on. The foster mom is very diligent with her cleaning and having a separate play area will allow her to maintain the cage while he is out and then clean the exercise area when he is in the cage. Endless duty! If anyone has a perch stand with a good size base that will accommodate macaw feet and is willing to donate it to Mickaboo, it would be a godsend to this bird. Due to the contagiousness of this disease the perch can not be used for any other non-infected birds. Rico is in the West Sacramento area. Thanks in advance for your help.
