A friend of mine is having cancer surgery in Sacramento tomorrow somewhat unexpectedly. If the Wings of Spring will be ok without me, I can visit her AND rescue the budgies, too- although the Sac Zoo is one of my favs. Susan Mini wrote:

If you live in the Sacramento area and are available to pick up two budgies from the Sacramento County shelter on Saturday May 5th, please call me and let me know if you are available. We have two budgies at the shelter and one of them we are concerned about, because he came to the shelter with blood on his tail feathers :-( The shelter would not let us take the bird any sooner, stating he had been seen by a shelter Vet and was doing fine. Saturday May 5th is the first day the shelter would let us get them. We want to get these guys out asap. If you can help, call me Friday night at my home, or Saturday at my work 415-499-4081.
