[Mickaboo Action] Adoption Fair - next Sunday in San Ramon!

Yup, it's just a week away! Well, actually a week from tomorrow, on Sunday the 25th. If you're not quite sure where San Ramon is, it is in the East Bay just South of Walnut Creek, on freeway 680. The site of the Adoption Fair is right next to the freeway, and in the same building as the Bishop Ranch Vet Center - a very large vet office, they have something like 12 vets working there. The Fair is in the adjoining pet supply store 'Pet Care Depot' - we had a Mickaboo class there a few weeks ago. . If you haven't already RSVP'd, please consider bringing your foster bird - this is a wonderful opportunity for your bird to find his/her "forever" home. We have advertised on the radio, Craigslist, FreeCycle, Pet Stores, Vet Offices, etc; and are expecting a large turnout. These events are always a lot of fun, and also an opportunity for you to meet and socialize with other Mickaboo folks, and to meet other Mickaboo birds. At the last Adoption Fair, I met the 2 Amazon "loves of my life", whom my hubby and I ended up adopting! If you have other plans that day, perhaps you could find another Mickaboo volunteer in your area to bring your foster bird - I'll include the list of birds and people who have already RSVP'd. The event is open to the public from 1 to 3:30pm, but we're asking Mickaboo birds to arrive around Noon to get ready to greet all the admiring people. But, if you find out at the last minute that you're free, just come when and if you can - we plan to have space available for late arrivals. (it is still better to RSVP if you know ahead of time so we can have your bird's 'place card' ready - the bird bio). Remember, no birds will be adopted that day, this is strictly a "Meet and Greet" event, so you will need to make sure your bird goes home with you at the end of the day; and of course your bird shouldn't come if he is sick or in quarantine. If your bird will come out the the cage, his/her wings must be clipped; and you might consider bringing some treats for your bird. I'm pasting the list of RSVP's so far... for some reason we have lots of amazons, mini-macaws, budgies, a few tiels and conures, but no lovebirds, African greys, or cockatoos at all have RSVP'd. (don't ask me why?!) I know we've got plenty of them needing new homes... would love to give folks an opportunity to meet them at the Adoption Fair. Let me know if you have any questions, and I apologize if you get this email more than once... (that means you are *very important* and are on more than one of my lists! )... You are invited to a very special event! That's right, it's the East Bay Adoption Fair, an event where you are very likely find your "forever home"! It's true, many, many birds find their humans at Adoption Fairs. Anyhow, we need to get ready for all of you beautiful Mickaboo birds. So tell your foster Mom or Dad to tell us if you'll be there. If you're not sure, that's OK, just tell them to say "maybe". (Oh, and BTW, tell your humans it's a good chance for them to hang out and socialize with other "bird people".) The Adoption Fair is on Feb. 25 in San Ramon from 1-3:30pm. We'd really like you to get there early, around Noon, to get ready for all the people who will want to meet you. But if you can't, that's OK too, just get there when you can! Remember to let us know by sending an email to Robbie4@sbcglobal.net; and we can't wait to see you all there!! see attached flyer for more info _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ admins mailing list admins@mickaboo.org https://mickaboo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/admins
