Hi everyone, I just got back from helping a lady here in Napa look for her missing African Grey. "Marcello" has been missing since July 2nd. His wings had not been clipped recently and she was holding him outside and he became spooked by something and took off. The lady is absolutely devastated, and has been actively searching for him everyday since he has gone missing. She is doing everything right--has flyers posted everywhere at all animal organizations and Vets; has put an ad in the local newspapers; has contacted the local radio station to broadcast that he is missing; has posted on Craigs List, Parrot 911 and other internet parrot web sites; has been actively searching and has been going door to door everyday; has notified the local shelters and humane societies; has notified local pet stores about his being lost; and put his cage with food out in her back yard and food along the fence line. I suggested to her that she expand her search radius and make sure that there are flyers in those areas as well. I helped her search for Marcello this morning around her neighborhood. We looked both high and low in people's yards and in the neighborhood, called out his name, stopped at people's doors and asked if they had seen him, and passed out flyers. I told her that I would ask that Marcello's info is posted on our web site and that I would contact neighboring county shelters about him being missing. Matt and Chloe, can we post Marcello's information on our lost and found page of the web site? His name is Marcello, he is a Congo African Grey, he is about 1 year old, and he has an ID band on his leg. There is a Reward to anyone who finds him. If any of you have any other ideas or info that might help this lady, please feel free to contact me. Please let's all think good positive thoughts for this lady and Marcello, that he may be re-united with her and family safe and sound.
