We may be getting a Canary Wing Parakeet into Mickaboo in the next week or so. The bird hasn't been surrendered yet, but I'd like to line up a foster home for when/if she is. She is a canary wing, which is a type of Brotogeris. These guys are commonly known as Pocket Parrots because they just love to snuggle up in people's pockets all day! They are sweet little things a tiny bit smaller then a green cheek conure. Not as loud as a conure, probably about on par with a male cockatiel as far as noise level goes. This particular individual plucks around her neck. She was hand fed but poorly socialized. She is scared of people, but then once she is away from the cage she loves for them to cuddle and pet her. She needs someone who will be able to medicate her if she needs it and has time to work on socializing her. Please email me if you're interested in helping this little bird.
