Hi there-- Sherry Helms, our Eclectus Coordinator, is out of town so I'm posting this for her. We'd love to get Carmen out of the Dublin shelter. Just as an FYI, we've often found that birds described as "aggressive" in shelters, aren't the least bit aggressive once they're out of that *very* stressful environment! ***************************************************************************************************** "We got a call in from the Dublin shelter that has a stray female Eclectus. They think her name is "Coreman" or "Carmen" because she says "Good Morning____!" and makes a really loud coughing noise (previous owner must of had emphysema!). Renee at the shelter says that "Carmen" has been at the shelter for 30 days, but no one has claimed her. She was found in a tree at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley. She is plucked (was like this when she came in) but seems healthy and is eating well. Renee says she is not the friendliest bird and is cage aggressive. Renee has to towel her to get her out of the cage and once out, she will sit on Renee's hand for a minute or so. She is perch trained and will step up on a perch. Renee said she seems to prefer men."
