Hello All,
I am writing this to plead with all of you in the hopes that a few of you will be able to help with transporting cages and other equipment. Mainly cages. I used to have the perfect schedule to do much of this myself. I would get off from work at SFO (For those of you who don't know, I am a 20+ year mechanic at United) at 1:30 or 2:30 and be centrally located to do moving jobs up and down the Peninsula, East Bay, South Bay, where ever it was needed. I did this all at my own expense but was very happy to do so. It was and will be again my contribution to Mickaboo. Now, Shannon and I have moved to Davis, CA, for the foreseeable future so that she can attend UC Davis to obtain her law degree. Granted, gas is really starting to hurt us all in the pocketbooks. But we cannot allow this to hamper the work that we all have accomplished for Mickaboo. No matter how many foster and adoptive parents we find, if there is no cage for the birds, it is all for naught. Tom and Nancy cannot do this on there own. I saw where Claudia had volunteered to use her van for some sort of cage move. Of all the hundreds of volunteers we have around here, surely there must be someone who can step into this role.
I fear for the future of Mickaboo if this is not resolved soon. If we are to continue to grow and help as many unfortunate birds as we can, we need a person or persons to say "I will do this".
Please,
Sincerely,
Bill Kennedy
