Great news Claudia! So glad to hear they have a home. Susan M. On Sunday, January 14, 2007, at 01:51 PM, CLAUDIA MELTEFF wrote:
We have one fantastic group of people who just continue to find ways to help. A Sacramento area family will foster these two macaws. Sherry Novotny, who adopted beautiful Blue & Gold macaw "Carmen", went to the shelter to visit the two macaws today and said they are good looking birds. When she laughed, they laughed and seemed to be reasonably comfortable. She will be moving some cages around and will take these two good looking birds. Thanks to Sherry and to the others who contacted me.

Subject: DESPERATE PLEA FOR MACAW FOSTER HOME To: action@mickaboo.org Hi! A shelter in Sacramento has two large macaws, surrendered together, that need to move soon. They are available Sunday. There is a Blue & Gold 20 year old male (?) that is not well tamed. The other is a Catalina 3 year old male (?) that is pretty tame - will step up on bare arm but hates long sleeves. They eat Pretty Bird pellets and lots of greens so the previous owner attempted to take care. This shelter has had good experience with Mickaboo and calls us first. I'd hate to disappoint them with a big NO. But I don't have any vacancy for one macaw let alone two. However, it you have taken down your Christmas tree and have a large bare spot that might accommodate a big macaw cage, please let me know. Macaws might look intimidating with their loud noise and big beak but in reality they are very intelligent, sensitive birds who can make your day and enrich your life. PLEASE HELP. Thanks.
