Hi! One of the SF Shelter Team volunteers visited Ronald this morning and has good reports of a reasonably good looking bird with a nice attitude and chatty ways. Please if you can consider taking Ronald in that would allow us to get her out of a shelter. Anyone feeling a twinge of conscience, please contact me ASAP. Thanks. [Mickaboo Action] Yellow head Amazon at SFACC - FOSTER HOME NEED URGENTLY

Hi! There is a female yellow headed Amazon by the name of "Ronald" at the San Francisco Animal Care & Control that we have been asked to take. "Ronald" was confiscated from a home in SF where the animals were in filthy conditions without food or water. Ronald and an African Grey were found in a dark, dingy basement, living in a small dirty cage without food and water. The Grey is being adopted out by SFACC. It appears that Ronald does not like men. Mickaboo took in TWO surrendered amazons today and our newest approved amazon foster home took both. Thanks Skip for stepping up when we needed you. All, There's a budgie at the Yolo County shelter that Susan Mini and Francie would like to rescue. The shelter has not been completely cooperative in the past, but they're willing for us to take this budgie -- so we might have a chance of working with them in the future, too. Because Francie wants to facilitate future relations, she's prepared to foster the budgie. For the greater Sacramento area folks -- can anyone make this budgie run to the Yolo shelter? And perhaps transport the budgie to a spot a little closer to Francie? Thank you all for considering this catch-and-release effort. Michelle bc

Hi everyone, I was talking with Alana today at the San Jose Shelter and she asked if I knew of anyone who would be interested in 2 pea fowl birds. She says they are a bit bigger than a rooster but smaller than a turkey. They have had them at the shelter for quite some time and would really like to find a home for them, If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in these two, contact me and I will give you more info. They can take up to 14 names to issue cards for a discount, and need a unique 10-digit phone number to go with each name. If you want me to put your name on the app today, email me with your name and phone. I'll be leaving within the hour.. You can always go in later and have them add it on if it doesn't get done today, so not to worry... Hi-- Is there anyone who would be willing to go through the website and take note of references to "Mickaboo Cockatiel Rescue" so we can clean those up? Hi Michelle and all, Michelle, i tried calling you but didn't get an answer. Since we know that the bird doesn't need meds (except in the water and spray to the face) we picked it up before they closed at 4 pm. We can certainly foster her/him for the short term since Cupid is no longer in quarentine. The thing is, we will be leaving next weekend for several days (Karen asked us to come and participate in a service for Emmie) and a non Mickaboo person with previous bird experience will be staying here and taking care of the flock. I am sure that she will be fine with this bird but i'd like to give her your number in case she has a question or there is a problem.
