Maya died unexpectedly. She was very young, but may have had cancer. Her last months were spent in a happy life, living with lots of other girl budgies.
Hi, I'm Thandie the dark green girl budgie in the picture. It says on the Mickaboo website that "Normal Green Budgies are the most similar in color to the wild Australian budgerigar." Personally, I don't think I'm that wild! Just ask my good friend Maya. (She's the lighter version of me.) She and I are cage mates and also good friends. We came from the same shelter and hung out there until Mickaboo picked us up and whisked us away to a nice foster home. Though our foster Mom is really nice, we're hoping our stay here is not too long. We'd like a "permanent" home-- one that's just ours and that we can stay in forever. Forget this moving around stuff. It's for the birds! Ummm? well you know what I mean. We're pretty good eaters---we love millet of course, greens like wheat grass, parsley and spinach, a healthy seed mix and we're getting the hang of those little round pellets our foster mom think she's "sneaking" into our food. We've tried a few, just to make her happy, and discovered they're not really too bad. She says they're good for us too. We're not hand tame yet but if you spend some one on one time with us that may change. . I do love hanging out with Maya and we like to gossip about budgie-stuff and to preen one another. It's nice to have someone who can get those hard to reach places like on the back of your head. There are lots of nice birds out there that need a good home but won't you please consider my friend and me? We'll make it worth your while by bringing birdie cheer and happy budgie chatter into your home.
