Benny and his friend Blair came to Mickaboo with psitticine beak and feather disease (PBFD). The disease is contagious and fatal. It is usually contracted by very young birds. Hospice care is provided for Mickaboo birds that are diagnosed with fatal conditions by a number of kind and very dedicated foster parents. For birds with contagious diseases, such care is particularly difficult, but also very rewarding. Benny is alone now, because Blair has gone before him. Benny likes to play with his foster mom, to enjoy his toys, especially his mirror, and to "step up" to come out of his cage.
