The synonym for gadget is a contraption; also, whatsis, doohickey, or thingamajig. None of those fit me but if you look in the dictionary this definition fits me well: "a device that is very useful for a particular job." I'm not really a device, but I am especially good for one particular thing -- and that's soaking up all the attention you will give me. I particularly love getting my head scratched. My foster mom says, "She's an absolute love! She LOVES head scritches and will literally fall over if you take your hand away too fast afterwards because she goes into some kind of catatonic state of bliss during the scritches."

NOTE FROM MICKABOO: Gadget is a special needs bird and the outcome of her treatment is still uncertain. She's been treated for kidney and liver problems, has been nebulized for breathing issues and there is a strong possibility she may never be "normal" because of all the toxins that have likely caused severe brain damage. She can't perch for more than two seconds without falling off, so she needs specially-rigged setups. She's a good little eater -- she loves natural pellets and Avicakes. She's not yet sure about veggies, though. She's much, much better than she was -- now she's alert and curious. She'll definitely need to be monitored by a good avian vet, though. Whoever adopts Gadget needs to remain aware of her medical needs and her special circumstances.
