Merry has passed away at the age of five and a half. She was hatched with severely splayed legs and never could stand erect. She and her sister, Bright, kept each other company during the day, and warm at night. Their severe deformity is not uncommon because of the inbreeding that occurs in developing the beautiful colors you find in pet store budgies. Please remember Merry and Bright if you ever consider buying budgies from commercial breeders or stores. Hello and happy new year! We came to Mickaboo right after the Christmas season, like our neighbors, the Holidays. So our foster mom named us Merry and Bright. Bright is the white powder puff and Merry is the blue budgie. We are mostly English budgie, as you can tell by our fluffy pompadours. While these pictures of us cuddling (we're sisters and have been together since we hatched) are very cute, this is how we spend most of our days. We were hatched with deformed hips and legs and cannot stand or perch.

We were well taken care of by our person until recently, when he lost his house and we lost our home. So he called Mickaboo and we came to live with our Mickaboo foster mom and a lot of budgies! We can hear the budgies but we haven't met them yet. We're still getting used to our new home, but we hear rumors that we're going to move into a bigger cage pretty soon, and learn to do more stuff -- including play with toys.
