UPDATE 4/12/05 Here is the latest from Cosmo's new mom: "Cosmo is doing great in his new flock of "puffies"!! I waited for a couple of days before I let them all out of their cage while they got used to each other, but he was so cute on his maiden flight with the gang (Mickey, Chino and Lime). At first he seemed to be a little overwhelmed by all the hoopla surrounding this activity, but by the second day of flying, he had learned to navigate with the group and kept up with their continual voyages around the room. It only took him a couple days more to figure out how to put himself away for the night like they do. He enjoys playing on the birdie jungle gym too. He is now settled in nicely - he is so chipper and happy all the time. He is no longer a quiet guy ... he now shrieks and sings and chatters constantly! He is very gregarious and active, constantly jumping around trying to spend time with each of the other three, and he doesn't seem to mind the constant rebukes by Lime who NEVER wants to share his favorite buddy Mickey. I was so amazed to hear about Cosmo's rescue from the Mickaboo volunteer's backyard, and am thankful he survived his life on the streets before he was saved. Thank you for my little flock of Mickaboo alumni budgies!" Hi Iím Cosmo, a green male budgie. I was found flying the neighborhoods of Cupertino by my foster dad. I sure was lucky to be found by a Mickaboo person. If nobody had rescued me I probably would have died. When I was found I was very skinny and I really appreciated the food my foster family fed me. But now I am doing better, and Iím all ready to go to a permanent home. Iím a pretty quiet bird except sometimes I make some little chirping noises when Iím happy. Iíll step up on fingers and sticks. I like my cage, though, so usually I try to fly back once I get a few feet away. Once Iím away from my cage, I like to sit on shoulders and watch TV with people. If you adopt me, I will be a good pet and a great friend!
