Updated 11/10/2008: I'm Katie, a 15-year old Sun conure with a bit of a past. I've lost count of how many homes I've been in, my foster mom says she knows of at least 4 before her, and I was abused in at least one of them. Still, my foster mom says I'm a darling girl. My last family had to give me up when they moved out of state, so Mickaboo has taken me in to find my what we all hope will be my final-and-forever home.

My foster mom is working on changing my diet. She's trying to convince me that veggies are not evil. I guess I'll believe her in time, but for now I'm eyeing anything green with suspicion! I still don't care for pellets much, but I sure love Nutriberries. My Mom gives them to me everyday. I also love apples!

My Mom has taught me not be afraid of hands. I now let her pet my head and hold me close to her chest. I love it when she preens my pin feathers on my head. I don't know why I've had so many homes before. I'll admit that I like attention so don't leave me alone too long. I'm as quiet as a mouse when I am out on my playstand. I don't have to be held all the time, just keep my near by so I can watch what's happening around me. I love to immitate humans when I can - like if you sneeze or cough, I'll try to do the same. My Mom tells me "bless you!" when I made a sneezing sound.
