Athos, Porthos and Aramis
|
|
All for one and one for all! We are the Three Musketeers: Athos, Porthos and Aramis. We are a bonded trio of male cockatiels. First up meet Porthos the Pirate. I'm a party boy, with the scars to prove it. Joyous, full of love of life and song, I was wounded by a former friend and I have the bald head to prove it. Sadly, my 'hair' may never grow back, but I don't let my chrome dome get in the way of a good time. I step up and sing cheerfully almost all the time. I am never pushy or rude. My foster mom says I'm a delightful little guy.
Next is Athos, the brooding, wounded soul. I'm Porthos' best friend. I have no flight feathers on my right wing...night frights and some pounding on the cage wall destroyed them. Like Porthos' head feathers, the vet says my flight feathers may grow back. I haven't had any night frights since moving into my new foster home. Also, like my friends, I am a wonderful singer, and my foster family says I'm a joy to hear every morning. Like my literary counterpart, I am more withdrawn than my friends. I hesitate to step up, and, lacking flight feathers (with some broken tail feathers to boot) I'm a little unsteady on my feet. Porthos is very protective of me, but if I see him doing something (like stepping up, or taking food from someone's fingers), I like to try it sometimes, too.
Finally, meet Aramis. Like MY literary counterpart, I'm a pretty boy. I love to sing, preen, and even though my flight feathers were trimmed, I fly extremely well, and will every chance I get. Don't leave the cage door open, or I'll be off and exploring the realm. I am protective of both Athos and Porthos, and am always ready to run interference if I think my friends are in any sort of peril. I believe in the motto of the musketeers' "all for one, and one for all"!
What foster mom says: The Three Musketeers came to Mickaboo from a very bad place. They were allowed free flight in a room filled with stuff, a very unsafe place for birds. They had all their flight feathers except for the ones Athos had knocked out. We hope Athos' night frights are over, now that he is in a safe and secure environment. All three have a clean bill of health from the vet. They are good with kids. Athos and Aramis are somewhat hand shy, but Porthos is quite friendly and steps up when invited. All three enjoy fresh greens and Mazuri pellets. If you are one who sees inner beauty, and has room in your heart for three wonderful young men, please contact the cockatiel coordinator.
