Sadly, Oswald died suddenly on 8/24/05. The necropsy was inconclusive, and the doctor suspects that he died of a stroke. UPDATE 12/9/03: ìIím really enjoying Oswald! Heís my first bird, and heís very patient with me as I learn about budgies. I realized I would adopt him after he'd been living with us for just a couple of weeks. Oswald's cage is in my office where he can look out at lots of trees and our garden. He comes out to play a couple of times a day on his play station, and he also enjoys sitting on top of his cage watching me work. He sings pretty little songs to me from his perch. Heís gotten very friendly since weíve had him--he likes to step up, and the moment I open his cage he wants to sit on my hand. Oswald likes to go for walks around the house sitting on my finger or on my shoulder. He enjoys looking in mirrors at himself, and his favorite treat is marinara sauce!î UPDATE 8/20/03: Greetings from the great and powerful Oswald! My leg has healed and I have recovered from the cat attack, but my doctor found out that I have arthritis. I sometimes have a hard time breathing and need to be on pain medication to make it through the day. But I'm still the sweet little budgie that I've always been. I step up and love to be with you. I love to make new friends - with people and other budgies too! I even sing budgie love songs to my foster mom's cat! I would love to go to a home where someone can appreciate a tame budgie and will give me the love and attention I crave. I'd be even happier if I you had another budgie friend for me as I miss my sister that I lost so much. I promise you, you won't regret adopting such a sweetheart. The great and powerful Oswald is ready to change your life for the better! An ounce of affection is worth a pound of fur. At least that is my opinion of pet value. I'm Oswald, a bit more than an ounce of loving blue budgie. Speaking of fur (though I'd rather not), I was attacked by a cat. I suffered a broken leg and many injuries, including wounds that made it hard for me to breathe. My people couldn't deal with my medical needs but luckily Mickaboo came to my rescue. I'm healing well and will be ready for a new home around the end of June. During my treatment, I've charmed my caregivers with my love of being held and having my head scratched. In the past, I had a good budgie friend, but I'm a people bird from beak to tail (or will be, once my tail grows back). So if you want a ton of personality in an ounce of parrot, I'm your budgie.
