UPDATE 3/4/08: Now, I eat well: Harrison pellets, greens, Nutriberries, Oat berry?.. I am quite impressive because I pick up food with my foot to eat. I understand that is not something that 'tiels usually do - but I'm not typical you know? I must be smarter. I have become very healthy and beautiful. Most of the time, I enjoy coming out of my cage during the day; hanging out and looking out the window. I enjoy listening to music. I am a very quiet bird. You can hold me and pick me up and I am learning to play with toys! I think I like the bell best. I will step up for my foster mom and I have very good manners, but I am still afraid to let strangers pet me but my confidence will grow. I need a person with plenty of patience to wait for me to take each step. If you are looking for a healthy and gentle cockatiel, I'll be good company for you. (Look at my video on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03PBI4s5Emk)

I am Percy! A very handsome male pied cockatiel who was rescued from the shelter, thanks to Mickaboo. I was facing execution although I don't recall if I ever committed a crime. Mickaboo stepped in and saved my life and here I am! My foster dad says I have lots of potential to be a tame cockatiel. It is a bit of a struggle to get me out of my cage but once out I will step up....most of the time. I am really not afraid of people just not very trusting yet. I like to surf on my foster dad's shoulder although I hiss in his ear every once in awhile to remind him who is in charge.....me, of course! My diet is mostly seed right now. My foster dad puts pellets in my dish but I'd rather toss them onto the floor than eat 'em. I do love my green veggies and Bob's Red Mill Nine Grain Cereal. As you can see, my diet is not so bad, but does need improvement. Maybe one day I will decide to actually taste my pellets. And who knows, I just might like them. I have a really great home right now, but it is just another stop in my journey. I would like to settle down one day very soon. Will you give me a chance and welcome me into your home? I've got lots of love to give and it would be just peachy if I could share it with you!
